If my child is currently in a Pre-K program at a WCPSS school, can my child continue at that school?
All rising kindergarteners, including students in Pre-K programs, must participate in the choice selection process. If the school which houses their Pre-K program is on their choice list, then they may request a Kindergarten seat at that school, but they are not guaranteed assignment to that school.
The exception to this is the Pre-K program at Poe Montessori Magnet School, which is tied to the school's overall academic program. Students attending the Pre-K program at Poe Montessori Magnet School will be pre-assigned to the kindergarten program at Poe Montessori Magnet School. UPDATED 2/10/12
